CSPE visit to the courthouse

Our 2nd years visited the courthouse today as a part of their CSPE learning. It was a very informative and educational experience for everyone. Thank you to the staff at the courthouse for facilitating our visit and Ms Lernihan for organising it. We are so lucky to have so many educational opportunities within such a short walk of our school grounds!

CEIST Student Leadership Conference

Transition Year Student Council members Kate Murphy, Ly O’Reilly and Tara Geaney, travelled to Dublin for the CEIST Student Leadership Conference. The theme this year was Making a Difference – Our CEIST Values in Action. There was a focus on the importance of student voice in our schools throughout the day. This is a wonderful event which brings together student leaders and teachers from each of the 107 CEIST schools to hear about and discuss examples of student leadership happening in CEIST schools. Students also got to see and experience DCU’s St. Patrick’s Campus, Drumcondra.  Thanks to Ms Walsh for accompanying the students.

Ms Walsh and Ms Howard travelled to the Oide Wellread Awards in Portlaois this week, where St Aloysius’ School was named a Readers for Life School. A wonderful beginning to TY Tour to Amsterdam. Students explored the UNESCO-listed Amsterdam Canal Ring with a Canal cruise followed by a trip to Madame Tussauds to encounter a wide range of celebrities from across the ages including a chance to get inside a Rembrandt painting!! A visit to the Anne Frank House and Museum is a must on any trip to Amsterdam, students spent this afternoon exploring the house Anne hid in during WWII. #history #culture

Water Safety Ireland

Dear staff, students, parents and guardians,   I am attaching a pdf of which includes several links to help educate us all on water safety, which we have been asked to distribute on behalf of Water Safety Ireland.  Their focus is on public awareness and education. Tragically, over the last ten years, an average of 118 people drowned each year in Ireland, it is worth taking note of their guidance this Easter should you be near the beach or pools with your family.   Kind regards, Alex SavagePdf-1
