Congratulations to our Transition Year students on winning the Donal Buckley perpetual trophy in the All Ireland Light Entertainment Competition.

The students competed in the first round of heats on 2nd February in the Briary Gap Cultural Centre in Macroom. They had to perform 15 minutes of light entertainment which included a dance from Cellblock Tango; a comedy sketch and S – club 7. On winning this heat they progressed to the all-Ireland final also held in the Briary Gap in Macroom.  8 schools competed for the title and our Transition Year students came out on top. They performed two songs from Chicago: “All that Jazz” and “Cellblock tango”, the Irish song “Moghile Mear” in harmony; 2 students performed a slip jig and the group finished with a modern dance and song to “Shut up and Dance”.
