Health and Fitness Week took place from the 18th to the 21st of March. It proved to be a big success where students took part in a variety of fun activities and events relating to food and fitness.

Arbutus Bread, Ballycotton Seafood, and Rawbina visited us and gave students some fantastic tips for baking bread from scratch, trying out different types of fish and some great ideas for trying healthy raw food smoothies and energy snacks.

We had some wonderful sponsored prizes which were raffled during the week and they were donated from Clonakilty, Green Saffron, Bitesize, Bluehaven Food Company, Barry’s Tea, Glenilen Farm, The Bodega, and La Dolce Vita Cork. There were a variety of signed cookbooks raffled also from some well know Irish TV Chefs.

Our highlight of the week was having Rachel Allen visit us on World Home-Economics Day March 21st. She gave us a great insight into her career and passion with food.’
