Our wonderful Transition Years spent Monday morning in the garden with their teachers, Ms Whalley and Ms Lernihan, leading the way. The level of growth over the summer was quite astonishing and the weeds decided to flourish and take over !  The students were simply incredible in their enthusiasm and work ethic all day. The garden is now somewhat back to its former glory.

We have been contacted by Peter Dowdall gardening expert with the Irish examiner who has asked to come in on Thursday next to do a piece on the sensory garden. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the passion and hard work that has gone into designing and looking after the garden over the past 18 months.

If any family/ parent/guardian staff member wishes to donate a plant for the garden we would be thrilled as there are still a number of spaces to fill with plants for Thursday. The plants need to be low in height for supervision purposes and need to be suitable for September planting. We would need to have them on Monday to get them planted by Thursday. I know it’s a big ask but I felt there was no harm in trying.

If anyone particularly loves weeding or landscaping and willing to help out we would love to hear from you

Thank you again to our TYs for their incredible school spirit
