Dear parents and guardians

As your daughter prepares for her State examinations which begin on Wednesday. Here is a run down of how the exams work
School doors open at 8am
Each student will be assigned to an exam centre
Students can check their centre number through the SEC signs that will be posted in the foyer
Students must bring their exam number with them.
On first morning students are to be in the exam centre at 9am for roll call.
All other mornings students will be allowed enter the exam centre approx 15 minutes before the exam begins.
Students must present on time for each exam therefore please factor in traffic delays into your morning travel time.
Junior Cycle students:
Junior Cycle exams will be held on the first floor
Students bags and coats are to be left in the library – there
should be no valuables left in their bags.
Junior cycle exams are much shorter than the Leaving Cert exams therefore students need to remain in complete silence when leaving their exam centres at the end of their exams.
Students remaining in school for the break between exams can go to the canteen to eat their lunch. They can use the library for study. They can go out to the garden / Astro to go for a walk and get some fresh air.  If walking outside they need to remain in silence while passing the ground floor classrooms as LC exams will going on in these rooms. For this reason the benches are out of bounds for lunchtime.
Leaving Cert students:

Leaving Cert exams will be held on the ground floor
Students bags and coats are to be left in the LC social area – there should be no valuables left in their bags.
Junior cycle afternoon exams begin much earlier than the Leaving Cert exams therefore LC students need to remain in complete silence when arriving for their afternoon exam.
Students remaining in school for the break between exams can go to the social area to eat their lunch. They can use the library for study. They can go out to the garden / Astro to go for a walk and get some fresh air.  If walking outside they need to remain in silence while passing the ground floor classrooms as JC exams will underway from 1:30. For this reason the benches are out of bounds for lunchtime.
All students have been sent the exam rules and the main one to be careful of is that under no circumstances can a student have a mobile phone, smart watch or any Wi-Fi enabled device in the exam centre. Their exam will be cancelled even if the phone is turned off.
Students must sign out when leaving the exam centre if they are leaving early which we strongly recommend that this does not happen. All students are encouraged to remain for the full exam time, to try their best and not to leave blanks.
I wish all of our exam students the very best for each and every one of their exams. They have worked hard all year and I know that they are looking forward to getting started.  I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers and we will be there throughout the exams to support all our students.
