Dear parents and guardians As your daughter prepares for her State examinations which begin on Wednesday. Here is a run down of how the exams work School doors open at 8am Each student will be assigned to an exam centre Students can check their centre number through the SEC signs that will be posted in the foyer Students must bring their exam number with them. Leaving Cert Graduation 2023
It was such a pleasure to join our 6th year students, their families and friends to celebrate their #graduation2023. We gathered to celebrate a very special day with a prayer service, song, speeches, presentation of school medallions, flowers, photos in the garden & refreshments in the sunshine. School Uniform 10% discount June 1st-10th
Please find attached details of the school uniform for next year. In addition you will find details from Laura's / Buckleys regarding prices of each item of uniform along with a promotional offer of a 10% discount for all items purchased/ordered between Thursday 1st June and Saturday 10th June. Creative Schools Week
There was a great buzz around the school last Friday as we rounded off Creative Schools Week with a teacher and student still life show down. The participants had only 30 minutes to paint a watermelon that was set up in the middle of the table, they had to know their colour theory as they were only given red, blue, yellow and white paint to work with. Sr. Mercedes Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis
A tribute to Sr. Mercedes, St Aloysius’ former Principal (1978 – 1985), teacher, colleague and friend. 12th May 2023 Sr. Mercedes Desmond passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and community at St. Maries of the Isle. In memory of Sr. Mercedes we wish to share with you a little tribute to her life, her commitment and her passion for education. Sr. Mercedes was a kind, dedicated and progressive Principal in St. Aloysius School. She was a pioneer in the advancement of education in Science in Ireland. Edel House
Our first year class donated items for Edel House to support their essential work in providing an emergency residential centre for women and children who have become homeless. Today 1st year students from our student council: Arlin, Sophia, Heloise and Ira went with their Year ahead Ms Corn to drop off the donations. Well done to our first year group for being so thoughtful and generous to those in our local community.
State Examinations – information regarding deferred examinations
The purpose of this email is to inform you that it has been decided to continue the scheme for deferred Leaving Certificate examinations for 2023 and to provide you with circular S24/23 which details the scheme. The scheme for 2023 is being provided on the same grounds as in 2022 with one change in order to provide for a candidate who experiences an extreme medical emergency during an examination.
