Saint Als Culture Day 2023

A wonderful day of fun, food, fashion and culture was had in Saint Als today as we celebrated Culture Day 2023. Well done to all the pupils and staff who contributed to this marvellous celebration of the variety of cultures in our school, from dressing in traditional costumes, to cultural presentations, to cooking delicious specialities,to poetry, music and dance. Special thanks to the Student Council, Ms O'Donovan and the Culture Day Committee for their hard work in making this such a special day.

Culture Day – Thursday 26th Jan.

We celebrate Culture Day on Thursday 26th January. This is a no-uniform day so we ask that you pay your €2 in the foyer on the morning. There are a number of activities for 1st, 2nd, TY and 5th year students from 11:00 - 13:00. At 11:00am these year groups will be making their presentations and celebrating their banquet. For the banquet we are asking that students cook / bake / make something associated with their culture. This will be shared with their year group (approximately 50 students). Congratulations Rachel Special Award winner BTYSTE

Fantastic news our TY Student Rachel has won a special award at the BTYSTE finals for her project “An investigation into the differences in how women & men are treated in online gaming”. Well done Rachel we are super proud of you. Well done also to Emma Rose for reaching the finals this is a fabulous achievement. Health Week 2023

Next week is Health Week in St Al's! We have lots planned to celebrate the week with activities organised for each day including quizzes, viewing of a documentary, tasting sessions and competitions. Open Consultation on the National Framework for Guidance.

You are invited to have your say on the National Framework for Guidance. In January 2022, Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD, established the National Policy Group on Lifelong Guidance to develop a coherent long term strategic framework. The National Policy Group comprises five government departments: The Department of Education (DoE), Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS), the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY), the Department of Social Protection (DSP) and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE). Transition Year STEM students get to BTYSTE final

Transition Year STEM students.
